Arshdeep, who was the highest wicket-taker in the 2022 (10) and 2024 T20 World Cups (17) and played a key role in India's historic triumph under Rohit Sharma's captaincy has become the mainstay of the Indian pacer bowling unit in the shortest format.
Last year, during a four-match T20I series vs South Africa, Arshdeep wrote his name in the history books by becoming the pacer with the most wickets in T20Is for India.
Arshdeep had an outstanding domestic season, finishing as the leading wicket-taker in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He claimed 20 wickets in just 7 matches, boasting an impressive average of 18.25 and a remarkable economy rate of 5.62. His left-arm pace bowling was particularly lethal, as he concluded the tournament with a strike rate of 19.4.
Arshdeep was rewarded for his outstanding outings in domestic cricket as he was picked in India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad over Mohammed Siraj, who has been a mainstay in the ODI setup.
