Pran Pratishtha: Here is the full schedule of Monday's Ram Temple consecration ceremony

The historic Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya is just hours away with millions looking forward to witnessing it in person or through digital mediums. Here is how the religious event is scheduled to unfold on Monday.

The much-awaited Ram temple consecration will be held here on Monday in a grand ceremony with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the rituals, following which the shrine will be opened for the public a day later.

Ayodhya: The much-awaited Ram temple consecration will be held here on Monday in a grand ceremony with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the rituals, following which the shrine will be opened for the public a day later.

The 'Pran Pratishtha' (giving life) ceremony will begin at 12.15 pm and is expected to end by 1 pm. The prime minister will then address a gathering of more than 7,000 people, including seers and prominent personalities, at the venue. Lakhs of people are expected to watch the event live on TV and online platforms as several states have declared a holiday while the central government has announced a half-day off.

'Pran Pratishtha' is used in a religious context by Hindu devotees while installing an idol at a place of worship. The 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony is meant to transform an idol into a deity through a series of rituals established in Vedas and Puranas. In the case of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the rites began on January 16 and will conclude on Monday, January 22.

Here is the schedule of this historic event-

On the morning of January 22, offerings will be made in the Havan Kund as part of the rituals going on in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.

Those invited to the Pran Pratishtha will start arriving from around 9 am. Keeping in view the security reasons, seating arrangements have been made for the guests in different rows.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Ayodhya Airport at 10.25 am on Monday.

He will reach Ram Mandir at 10.55 am.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony is scheduled to take place between 12:15 and 12:45 pm.

At 12:20 pm, PM Modi will remove the blindfold of Lord Ram, after which aarti will be performed.

After the PM has the first darshan of the deity, the other devotees will be allowed darshan of Lord Ram one by one from around 1:00 pm.

PM Modi will also participate in a public program in Ayodhya at 1 pm.

He will have darshan and worship at the Shiva temple on Kuber Tila at 2:15 pm.

The Prime Minister will stay in Ayodhya for about 4 hours.

Darshan and Aarti Timings: The doors of the Ram Mandir will open to devotees starting January 23, with darshan timings divided into two slots

  1. Morning: 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM
  2. Afternoon: 02:00 PM to 07:00 PM

A series of three aartis will be conducted daily

  1. Shringar Aarti: 06:30 AM
  2. Bhog Aarti: 12:00 PM
  3. Sandhya Aarti: 07:30 PM

How to book Aarti passes

Devotees can book aarti passes online or at the temple, depending on slot availability. The process is as follows:

  • Visit the official website, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra.
  • Log in with your mobile number to receive an OTP.
  • Navigate to ‘My Profile’ to book a slot for Aarti or Darshan.
  • Choose the desired date and Aarti timing.
  • Provide the necessary credentials.
  • Collect your pass from the counter at the Temple Premises before the Aarti ceremony.
