Dhule: Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off his campaign for the Maharashtra state assembly elections from Dhule on Friday. Speaking on this occasion, PM Modi took a jibe at the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), saying that the MVA alliance partners are already engaged in an infighting for sitting in the driver seat (CM chair).
The prime minister described MVA as a vehicle without brakes and wheels, further asserting that only the BJP-led Mahayuti government will be able to make sure that there will be faster development in the state. The Mahayuti Alliance candidates as well as Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were present on the stage.
PM Modi slammed the NC-Congress alliance in Jammu and Kashmir for proposing to restore Article 370. The prime minister said that after seventy five years of independence, the BJP-led government at the Centre upheld the Constitution by removing Article 370, giving rights to the Dalits and the underprivileged. But now, Congress and its allies have again proposed to bring back Article 370 there, he said.
PM Modi accused the Congress of following a double policy of trampling the constitution in Kashmir while chanting the greatness of the same in the Maharashtra election campaign. He appealed to the people to show the Congress leaders their true place once again.
The prime minister held a meeting at Khandesh Goshala Maidan in the city at 12 noon to campaign for the candidates of Mahayuti alliance in Malegaon Outer Constituency including Dhule City, Shindkheda, Shirpur, Sakri. Dhule city candidate Anup Aggarwal along with those of other constituencies and party office bearers were present.
Prime Minister Modi started his speech in Marathi and thanked Dhulekars. "In 2014, I came to Dhule and called for transformation, in return the Dhulekars gave me heartily their abundant blessings. In Maharashtra, during the last two and a half years, the grand coalition government has done the work of the common people," he said.
PM Modi further said, before the Grand Alliance, we saw two and a half years of dangerous tripartite government. First the government was robbed, then the people of Maharashtra were also robbed, he said. "Metro project and Samriddhi highway works were stopped. Put a brake on every plan. After this, the Mahayuti government came in the state and the situation changed," he said.
In two and a half years of Mahayuti, new development records were made in Maharashtra and under the leadership of Shinde, Maharashtra regained its lost glory. Vikas regained confidence, PM Modi said. BJP wants to fight for grand alliance and acceleration of development, he said.
PM Modi alleged that the Congress party was trying to create divisions among the tribals, SSCs, NTs and OBCs. "Battles are being waged in every caste. Congress has a long history of dividing people on caste-religion lines. Tribals and other communities will grow in strength if they stay together. If we are one, we are safe. Stay united and defeat this conspiracy of Congress," he said.
