Earthquake in Afghanistan: ফের ভূমিকম্পে কেঁপে উঠল আফগানিস্তান, কেন্দ্রস্থল সেই হেরাট প্রদেশ

আবারও ভূমিকম্প আফগানিস্তানে ৷ এবারও কেন্দ্রস্থল হেরাট শহরের কাছাকাছি ৷ গত শনিবার ভূমিকম্পের পর থেকে মাঝেমধ্যেই ভূমিকম্প হচ্ছে আফগানিস্তানে ৷

কাবুল, 15 অক্টোবর: একের পর এক ভূমিকম্পে কেঁপে উঠল আফগানিস্তান ৷ রবিবার ভোরে প্রথমে একটি শক্তিশালী ভূমিকম্প হয়। রিখটার স্কেলে কম্পনের তীব্রতা ছিল 6.3 ৷ এর কিছুক্ষণ পরে আরও একটি ভূমিকম্প হয়। এটির তীব্রতা ছিল 5.4 ৷ আমেরিকার জিওলজিক্যাল সার্ভের দেওয়া তথ্য অনুযায়ী, প্রথম ভূকম্পনটি হেরাট শহর থেকে 34 কিমি দূরে হয়েছে ৷ এর কেন্দ্রস্থল ভূপৃষ্ঠ থেকে 8 কিলোমিটার গভীরে ৷ তবে কোনও ক্ষয়ক্ষতির কথা জানা যায়নি ৷ দ্বিতীয় ভূমিকম্পটির কেন্দ্রস্থল ভূপৃষ্ঠ থেকে 10 কিমি গভীরে অবস্থিত ৷

এর আগে গত 7 অক্টোবর শক্তিশালী ভূমিকম্প এবং তারপর আফটরশকে কেঁপে উঠেছিল হেরাট শহর ৷ তালিবান প্রশাসনের দেওয়া হিসেব জানাচ্ছে, 2 হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষের মৃত্যু হয়েছে এই ভূমিকম্পে ৷ এই কম্পনের কেন্দ্রস্থল ছিল জেনদা জান ৷ রাষ্ট্রসংঘ সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, শুধুমাত্র এই জেলাটিতেই 1 হাজার 294 জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে ৷ আর জখম হয়েছে 1 হাজার 688 জন ৷ এর মধ্যে বেশির ভাগই মহিলা ও শিশু ৷ শনিবারের পর 13 অক্টোবর ভূমিকম্প হয় আফগানিস্তানে ৷ সেবার ভূমিকম্পের তীব্রতা ছিল 4.6 ৷ আর সেটি ভূপৃষ্ঠ থেকে 150 কিমি গভীরে হওয়ায় তেমন কোনও ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়নি ৷

এই ভূমিকম্পে হেরাটের একাধিক গ্রাম ধ্বংস হয়ে গিয়েছে ৷ বহু মানুষ ঘরদোর হারিয়ে এখনও ত্রাণ শিবিরে রয়েছেন ৷ তারপর থেকে মাঝেমধ্যেই ভূমিকম্প হচ্ছে আফগানিস্তানের এই পাহাড়ি অঞ্চলে ৷ এমনিতেই আফগানিস্তান ভূমিকম্পপ্রবণ এলাকা ৷ আমেরিকার জিওলজিক্যাল সার্ভে অনুযায়ী 7 অক্টোবরের ভূমিকম্পের কেন্দ্রস্থল ছিল হেরাট শহরের 40 কিলোমিটার উত্তর-পশ্চিমে ৷ প্রধান ভূমিকম্পটি হয় সকাল 11টা নাগাদ ৷ তখন দিনের ব্যস্ত সময় ৷ এরপর তিনটি আফটার শকে কেঁপে ওঠে হেরাট ৷ তিনটি আফটার শকের তীব্রতা ছিল- 6.3, 5.9, 5.5 ৷ আফগানিস্তান ও ইরানের সীমান্ত থেকে হেরাট শহরের দূরত্ব 120 কিমি ৷
