Belagavi (Karnataka): Transport workers across the state are on a strike demanding the implementation of the 6th pay commission. However, a driver from the Belagavi section chose to remain away from the strike. He also attended duty by wearing a helmet. The incident took place at the Belagavi Central Bus Stand. The driver attended duty at the direction of Transport Department officials. The bus was travelling from Belagavi to Dharwad. The driver had this idea in order to escape stone-pelting by protesters. He also decided that by wearing a helmet, co-workers would not be able to recognise him. Bus service to Kolhapur, Dharwad and Hubli from Belagavi has resumed. A police team led by PI Sangamesh Shivoyogi of Market Station is providing security to the transport personnel and buses who are on duty. Buses have been provided police security from Belagavi Central Bus Stand to Pune-Bangalore National Highway.
