Assam's unique specimen of its culture and heritage has kept the existence of the 500-year-old tradition of mask making. Drawing from epics, mythology and folktales, mask making in India is still surviving. The Barua family of Assam is keeping the tradition alive since a century. It is the family's 7th generation of being in this profession. In the TFT winter festival here, these artists gave young colour workers the tricks of mask making. The family has been awarded by Ministry of Culture, for promoting Art and Culture in India.
