Srinagar-Jammu highway reopens, stranded vehicles allowed to move

Traffic on the 270-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway was resumed on Tuesday afternoon after remaining closed for two days. The national highway was reopened paving the way for the resumption of traffic movement, mostly trucks carrying essential commodities to the Valley. However, the traffic movement was slow during the day due to inclement weather and falling rocks from the hillocks overlooking the highway at various places in Ramban district. Traffic on the highway is progressing smoothly.
