NEP row: Over 50 CFI activists detained over attempt to gherao Minister Ashwath Narayan

Mangaluru: More than 50 Campus Front of India (CFI) activists were detained in Mangaluru for trying to gherao Higher Education Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan opposing the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP). The incident took place in Mangaluru University campus where Narayan had come to launch the NEP. CFI activists staged protests amid tight police security. They tried to gherao the minister but were stopped by the police. Many activists were also taken into custody.
