Kerala hotel gutted in fire, no casualties

A massive fire broke out in a hotel in Kerala's Palakkad on Friday. No casualties have yet been reported, however, the fire reduced the restaurant to ashes. The blaze erupted in 'Noor Jahan Open Grill' hotel, located on stadium bus stand road and the flames spread rapidly across all its floors as thick smoke engulfed the entire premises. As soon as the fire was reported, those present in the hotel were evacuated and simultaneously, people in the adjoining area were also alerted. According to eyewitnesses, fire brigade employees made hectic efforts to douse the flames which spread to inner areas of the hotel but in the meantime, the hotel was completely gutted. Meanwhile, the actual cause of the fire is yet to be known however, it is suspected that a short circuit may have caused the fire.
