Jharkhand tribes seek recognition for Sarna religion

Tribal groups from Jharkhand staged a protest in Delhi demanding recognition of Sarna religion and include it in the Census of 2021. For many years protests and meetings have been held by various tribes in Jharkhand. Chief Minister Hemant Soren's government had passed a resolution for a separate tribal code in the Assembly last year and raised the demand with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.
