Landslides cut off Jammu-Srinagar highway in Kathua

The 270-km Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed for traffic after heavy rains triggered a landslide and rockslide near Pantal village in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, officials said. A number of vehicles are stranded along the highway, the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country. Men and machines are at work to clear the highway and restore traffic, officials added.
