Fire engulfs forest compartment in Kashmir's Kokernag

A fire broke out in compartment number 98 of Godol forest area in South Kashmir's Kokernag. The fire burnt down a large number of trees. Army's 19th RR Fire and Emergency Department, Forest Department and locals doused the fire. An official of the Forest Department said that forest fires are common due to dry weather. However, due to the darkness, the extent of damage could not be estimated yet.
