Apart from mosque, other facilities will also be build on 5 acre land: Prof SM Akhtar
The proposed mosque that will come up in Ayodhya, on the alternative plot given to the Muslim community as part of the Supreme Court order, will be designed by Professor SM Akhtar, Head, Faculty of Architecture, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University in New Delhi. Speaking to ETV Bharat, Prof Akhtar said that the mosque will be part of the complex to be built on a five-acre plot besides other facilities related to health or education. "Discussions have been going on for long but there is no concept or design in our mind at present. The basic idea is to bring people together. To achieve this motive, we will integrate human values, the spirit of India, and soul of Islam in the design so that we can communicate the message and people can be benefitted," he said. Prof Akhtar has been appointed as the consultant architect for the mosque to be built in Ayodhya's Dhannipur village by the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) trust.
