Erode: In a bizarre ritual on Maha Shivaratri in Tamil Nadu, devotees cracked coconuts on their own heads at Thottamma Chinnamma temple in Ayyampalayam. Devotees say it is a symbolic surrender to God and assures good health. Hundreds of worshippers lined up to take part in the ritual in Erode district.
