IAF aircraft deployed to battle forest fire in Udhampur

An Indian Air Force aircraft arrived at the forest of Daya Dhar in the Ghordi area of Udhampur, which was hit by a fire on Monday. The plane was deployed in the fire-fighting operation. Several hectares of the forest area caught fire and forest property worth several lakhs of rupees was destroyed, the Forest Protection Force said. Though teams from the Forest Protection Force and police did their best to douse the fire on Sunday, they were only partially successful as vast swathes of land were engulfed in fire.
