Scores of dead fish wash ashore in Odisha's Puri
A large number of fish washed ashore on the beaches at Puri in Odisha. It is suspected that the fish were killed because of the cyclonic storm Yaas. A section of experts has also held that rising pollution levels in the sea be the likely cause. Leaders of the fishing communities, for their part, said the COVID-19 induced lockdown has massively dented the fishing business. Though the fishermen get a good catch, they are failing to find a market. As a result, they have been disposing of these fish at the shore.
