The 21st of June, 2019, will be a red letter day not only in the irrigation history of Telangana, but also in the annals of India’s development. On this glorious day, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will be inaugurating the Rs 80,000 crore mega irrigation project that aims to utilize 225 thousand million cubic feet (TMC) of water from river Godavari. Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme is one of the World’s biggest irrigation projects and is all set to irrigate a large portion of the entire state of Telangana.
