Kate Winslet wants to elevate accomplishments of women onscreen

Before the Toronto International Film Festival began, Kate Winslet said she wanted to continue taking on roles that elevate the historical accomplishments of women forgotten over time, but admits more barriers need breaking when it comes to financing. Her entry in this year's festival, Ammonite, where she portrays 19th century paleontologist Mary Anning, premiered over the weekend with the chatter of Oscar buzz.
