Brawl breaks out during river rafting in Uttarakhand's Rishikesh

Rishikesh (Uttarakhand): A fight broke out during the river rafting competition in Uttarakhand's Rishikesh. A video of the incident went viral on social media. The members of the rafting team were on several boats. They were coming from the Shivpuri side of the Ganga river and moving towards Munikireti. What led to the scuffle was not known.  The fight broke out in the middle of the Ganga river. It is alleged that two teams sitting in different rafts attacked each other with a rafting paddle.  

Although the team members were wearing life jackets. The place where the fight broke out was full of boulders. So, had the fight escalated further they could have sustained fatal injury.  A man was attacking a person with a rafting paddle in a raft. He was hitting him with a paddle. Three persons jumped from the raft and took a plunge into the Ganga river to escape the attack. No complaint was registered at the police station concerned. Inspector Ritesh Shah of Muni Ki Reti police station said, "The incident has come to our notice. We have seen the video. It was dangerous fighting in the middle of the Ganga river. We are probing the case. No complaint was registered in this regard."
