Pope celebrates joy of Easter amid sorrow of virus, alone

The Pontiff described the Easter message as a "message of hope", likening current struggles with the coronavirus pandemic to that of people who had seen Jesus crucified. Vatican City has eight confirmed infections, while in surrounding Italy, one of the hardest-hit countries, 1,52,271 people have been infected with the new virus, with 19,468 deaths.
