Odia community in Bahrain celebrates Rath Yatra festival

Odia community celebrated the Rath Yatra festival in Islamic nation Bahrain while strictly adhering to the Covid protocols. The local administration in Bahrain allowed the community to celebrate the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra which was organised by Bahrain Odia Samaj in coordination with ISKCON Temple in Segaya. The chariot was pulled in shifts with ten vaccinated devotees at a time while maintaining social distancing. Iskcon temple Chairman Bardharajan Prabhu, Founder of Bahrain Odia Samaj Arun Kumar Praharaj, Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava was among other dignitaries who were present on the occasion. Expressing gratitude to the Bahrain government, Arun Kumar Praharaj said that the festival is celebrated in the nation for the last 22 years. Apart from yatra, all the ceremonies will be held virtually.
