Heartwrenching: Elephant attempts to wake up its dead calf

Palakkad (Kerala): The efforts of a mother to wake up a 3-year-old-elephant calf melted the hearts of many at Malampuzha Anakallu in Palakkad district. The calf was reportedly electrocuted when it came in contact with an electric line on Monday night. Its mother which stood guard was seen trying to revive the calf in vain. She spent several hours at the spot preventing others from getting near its calf.
