Hyderabad: Dengue is one of the most serious diseases known to man. Every year millions of people die from this deadly disease all over the world. Most cases of dengue occur during the early stages of the rainy season and most precautions are needed during this period. Due to the severity of this disease, the government of India constantly keeps informing people about it. Dengue larvae breed mainly in stagnant clean water and July to October is the most favourable time for their development. During this period, many people get affected by dengue, so it is necessary to be careful.

Many events are organized by the government to make people aware of dengue disease. National Dengue Day is observed every year on May 16, before the onset of monsoon. The purpose of observing this day is to make people aware of this deadly disease. Dengue Day is observed every year by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. There is more awareness among the people about dengue than before, but there is a need to create more noise about the disease in the rural parts of the country.

Dengue is a mosquito-borne disease and is caused by the bite of the Aedes mosquito. According to the World Health Organization, every year about 100-400 million people are infected with the disease and several die due to it. National Dengue Day is observed every year to create awareness about the symptoms of dengue and to create awareness about the disease.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare decides on a unique theme every year to keep the discussion and campaign on the National Dengue Day uniform. However, the National Dengue Day 2022 theme was "Be Safe and Fight Dengue." This theme gave a message of being proactive in preventing the spread of dengue.

However, like the previous year, this year too, on this day, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has planned campaigns and programs to inform the public about dengue disease. However, this year, the day is being observed with the theme of education about the deadly dengue disease, introducing the early signs and symptoms of the disease, and encouraging the practice of preventive measures.

Dengue is a mosquito-borne disease. Cases increase during the dengue season, i.e. between July and November. So everyone should participate in National Dengue Day to protect themselves and others from this deadly disease. In November 2021, dengue cases in Punjab reached an all-time high of 16,129. However, as dengue outbreaks are common in India, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has officially declared May 16 as National Dengue Day. Although people are more aware of this disease now than before, they still suffer from it.
