West Bengal: One minute's storm kills two, destroys huge property

A one minute's storm hit West Bengal, left two dead and destroyed many properties in different parts of the state. Districts like Birbhum, Malda, Jalpaiguri were badly affected, as many houses got roofless, around eight to ten crores mangoes got ruined, trees got uprooted and electricity was suspended.

Birbhum (West Bengal): Over 15 houses' got roofless in Birbhum's Siuri town by a one minute's storm which hit West Bengal on Monday evening, ruined several parts of the state.

Few days after cyclone Amphan destroyed most of its southern districts, West Bengal faced another stroke from this sudden storm which killed two people in Malda and injured another two persons.

Besides, it has uprooted 30-35 trees, destroyed around eight to ten crores mangoes in Malda.

On the other hand, destruction of over 100 kaccha houses was reported from Jalpaiguri district's Malbazar area on Monday.

The electricity supply was suspended in all the storm-hit places as most of the electric-polls got uprooted during the storm.
