Kolkata: BJP leader Babu Master alias Firoz Ghazi injured after he was attacked by unknown persons on Basanti Highway while he was returning to Kolkata after attending a meeting at the district party office in North 24 Parganas on Saturday evening.

According to reports, the incident took place this evening when Ghazi was returning to Kolkata after attending a meeting at Basirhat.
Suddenly some unidentified miscreants hurled bombs on his car and assaulted him near Kolkata-Basanti highway. Following the attack he was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital for treatment, reports added.
Meanwhile, police reached the spot and started the investigation into the incident.
Reportedly, in West Bengal, there have been many attacks in the past for political rivalry. Several leaders and activists were murdered over political rivalry.
