Darjeeling:Jewel and Shaheen, two of the cutest Red Pandas at the Darjeeling zoo in West Bengal bid adieu to their fellow zoo mates before they embark on a journey to Berlin, Germany.
The female and male Panda, who are on their way to Kolkata and later on the plane from Darjeeling this month, will be on view at Tierpark, Germany, until March 6.
According to reports, the panda's are being sent to Germany for breeding purposes. Earlier, Red Panda's were sent to a similar facility in Auckland, New Zealand for breeding.
As part of the exchange programme with the German zoo, five Mishmi takins, aged between seven months and three years, arrived in Darjeeling zoo last month. Takin, which is the national animal of Bhutan, is an endangered goat-antelope species.
