Two killed and one injured during a scuffle over CAA protest in West Bengal's Murshidabad. Following an anti-CAA protest, two groups indulged into an argument which led to violence.

Kolkata: Two persons were killed and at least one person sustained the injury in a clash over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in West Bengal's Murshidabad district on Wednesday.

The violence occurred following an argument between two groups on the CAA protest, near the Jalangi area in Murshidabad.

According to sources, while a roadblock was set up in Sahebnagar locality to show protest against CAA, a group of people came to start scuffle.

Several rounds of firing conducted during the scuffle, while a number of vehicles vandalised and set on fire, the sources revealed.

Being informed police rushed to the spot and took the injured to the hospital.

However, a local residents forum, which had organised the roadblock, accused the Trinamool Congress and its leader Tahiruddin Sheikh of carrying out the attack.

But the Trinamool denied the charge and blamed CPI-M and the Congress for the violence.
