TMC councillor shot dead in WB's Asansol

TMC Councillor of ward 66 of Asansol Municipal Corporation was shot dead outside his home on Saturday night. Khalid was shot in his legs and chest and was taken to Asansol District Hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

West Bengal: A TMC Councillor was shot dead outside his residence in Asansol on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Khalid Khan (40).

He was the councillor of ward 66 of Asansol Municipal Corporation.

Khalid was shot in his legs and chest and was taken to Asansol District Hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

An FIR has been lodged against Khalid's neighbours, Sheikh Tinku, Sheikh Kader and Sheikh Shahi.

According to Khalid's brother Mohammed Arman,"these three have also tried to attack Khalid and their father three years ago."

Asansol Mayor Jitendra Tiwari and others came to the hospital after receiving the news.

Further investigation is underway in this case.
