New Delhi: A delegation led by BJP's National General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav on Thursday went to Election Commission demanding intervention of the poll body in Siliguri incident and to transfer the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Siliguri.
A day after the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Siliguri, a body of 42-year old was found hanging at Bharatiya Janata Party's booth office in Siliguri.
Speaking to media, Bhupendra Yadav said, "Under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, the track record to West Bengal shows that political violence is happening in the state. Last time when our candidate got killed in the state, we approached EC to take cognizance of the matter, but the correct action was not being taken in that matter for the safety of our candidates."
