Hooghly (West Bengal):Harit – a quaint village in Hooghly district in West Bengal, nestled 45 km away from Kolkata was painted red since morning as Priyanka Mallick – a talented young designer from the village has designed the breath-taking red gown with a delicate rose pattern that the queen will wear in the consort of the coronation ceremony.
Priyanka’s talent and hard work have paid off in spades, as Priyanka has been invited by the British High Commission to attend the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla. The invitation came from as far away as London, and Priyanka has joined the event virtually since morning.
The dress designed by Priyanka for the queen's consort is a breathtaking red gown with a delicate rose pattern, perfectly suited for the grandeur of the occasion. The queen herself has expressed her gratitude to Priyanka from Birmingham, and the butterfly brooch worn by King Charles III during his inauguration was also designed by the talented designer from Hooghly.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Mallick said, "I am invited to join the King and Queen's coronation. But I am unable to attend it physically, so I will be a part of it virtually. I am launching some of the exclusive designs from my branch here about the king and queen's coronation. I will join an event locally organised by the British Deputy High Commission.”
Elaborating on her efforts to design the dress, Priyanka said, "It is really a good feeling once in a lifetime. I had a contact with Buckingham Palace in early 2022. The conversation then continued and the queen appreciated my design and sent me the letter. It is really a happy moment for me and my family."
