Mamata rules out one on one meeting with PM during Delhi visit

Kolkata : Ruling out the possibility of holding a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her visit to Delhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said there is "no chance" of her meeting the Prime Minister separately.

."There is no chance of separately meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during my four-day visit to New Delhi and Rajasthan, starting from Monday," the Chief Minister told reporters at the Kolkata airport before leading to Delhi on Monday.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo said that she will attend the Chief Ministers' meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan late on Monday evening. The meeting has been convened by the Prime Minister to discuss preparation for the G20 summit next year hosted by India.

"There I will have some interaction with the Prime Minister. But there is no chance of meeting The Prime Minister separately this time," the Chief Minister said. However, she did not divulge any details about whether she will hold meetings with other party leaders during her visit.

Earlier, Banerjee made it clear that she will be attending the meeting not as the West Bengal Chief Minister but as the chairperson of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). She is scheduled to for Rajasthan to visit two iconic religious sites in the desert, Ajmer Sharif and Pushkar Lake

"When I was the railways minister, I arranged the railways link to these two religious sites. I had a wish for a long time to visit these two places, which I will be fulfilling this time," the chief minister said.

The TMC supremo is expected to meet all her party MPs at the official residence of senior TMC leader and MP Saugata Roy in New Delhi. She is expected to finalize the party's strategy within Parliament during the forthcoming winter session of the House. All the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members of the party have been asked to be mandatorily present at the meeting.

TMC insiders said that in the meeting Mamata is also was expected to outline how to counter issues raised by other party MPs on the various controversies in the state.
