Mamata Banerjee writes to centre over deployment of IMCTs in WB

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to the central government questioning the deployment of Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs) in West Bengal. In the letter, she also said that she was not informed beforehand about the IMCTs visit.

Kolkata:As the Inter Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs) reached Kolkata on Monday to inspect the current COVID-19 situation, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to the central government saying no prior information was given to the sate government regarding their visit.

In a letter to the central government, she wrote that Union Home Minister spoke to her at about 1 PM, while the central teams already landed in Kolkata at 10:10 AM. Also, she received the order issued by the central government just 30 mins before the team arrived. In her letter she appreciated the pro activeness of the central government but said that it was done without prior information, hence it was a breach of the established protocol.

As per the order, the state govt was supposed to provide logistics arrangement, but without contacting them, central team contacted BSF, SSB for logistics support and visited the areas.
