LPG cylinders explode in Birbhum house, no casualty

Superintendent of police Shyam Singh told media that wall of a two-storied house collapsed after LPG cylinders kept there exploded at Labhpur in Birbhum district. The incident took place around 12:30 noon and the LPG cylinders were kept in a room on the first floor of the house.

Suri (WB):The wall of a two-storiedhouse collapsed after LPG cylinders kept there exploded atLabhpur in Birbhum district on Sunday, triggering panic in thearea.

There was no report of any casualty in the blast.

Superintendent of police Shyam Singh told mediathat the explosion, which took place around 12:30 noon, wascaused by LPG cylinders kept in a room on the first floor ofthe house.

A fire tender doused the flames which broke out due tothe explosion.

Local people claimed that apart from LPG cylinders,firecrackers were also stored in the room but the SP said thatthere was no such information.

The explosion caused the collapse of a wall in two adjacentrooms on the first floor.

The senior police officer said that there was no one onthe first floor when the explosion occurred.
