Kolkata: The 'Khela Hobe' battle cry during the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly elections has been transformed into a sports campaign in the state. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government is launching the 'Khela Hobe' campaign through which the state sports department will distribute footballs to registered clubs.

During the election campaigning, Mamata had promised to distribute footballs to the clubs and school students keeping in mind their inclination towards sports. Notably, the popular slogan got massive attention during poll campaigning when Mamata once threw footballs towards the crowd. She also used the slogan to raise her voice against many issues. The state government believes that the 'Khela Hobe' campaign will strengthen the game and improve the quality of the players by fueling up their spirits.
