Karimpur Assembly bypoll: The tale of a kick and 2 votes

Trinamool Congress (TMC) won the Kaliaganj and Kharagpur Sadar by-elections on Thursday. The results surprised everyone as BJP managed to secure 38 votes from booth number 33 and only 2 votes from booth number 32. These are the same booths where BJP candidate Jay Prakash Majumdar was thrashed by the TMC supporters on polling day.

Karimpur: Booth number 32 and 33 of Islampur Primary School in Ghiyaghat earned a distinct recognition, soon after the video of BJP candidate Jay Prakash Majumdar getting assaulted by TMC supporters went viral on poll day.

The results were announced on Thursday which surprised everyone as BJP managed to secure 38 votes from booth number 33 and only 2 votes from booth number 32.

Trinamool Congress has marched to victory in the Kaliaganj Assembly seat for the first time.

TMC has won over BJP by 2,304 votes.
