Kolkata:Moderateto heavy rains will continue in distinct pockets of West Bengal for the next two days, according to the projection of the India Meteorological Department. According to MeT, moderate to heavy rains are projected almost throughout the state till Saturday night which may even continue till Sunday. However, in the late noon hours of Sunday, there are possibilities of improvement in weather condition.
Moderate to heavy rains, which have started in the districts in the western range of the state including Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum, Murshidabad and West Burdwan districts, is likely to continue till Saturday. Orange alert has been issued for these districts. Similarly, the quantum of rainfall is expected to be quite high in the districts of North Bengal including Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong and Alipurduar, where a Yellow alert has been issued.
