Illegal arms and 10 kg explosives seized in Kolkata, 2 arrested

The STF of Kolkata Police arrested two persons in the city for possessing 10 kg of explosive materials and improvised firearms on late Friday night. The arrested persons will be produced before the court on Saturday.

Kolkata:The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police has arrested two persons in the city for possessing 10 kg of explosive materials and improvised firearms on late Friday night.

Based on prior information, the officers intercepted two persons namely Faiyaz Alam (55) and Md Mukim Khan (46) from near the Rajabazar Tram Depot in West Bengal's Kolkata.

"Two improvised, country made one shutter firearms and a huge quantity of explosive materials weighing about 10 kg were seized from their possession," a police officer said.

The arrested persons will be produced before the court on Saturday.
