Santiniketan:Ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to West Bengal's Bolpur, the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader drew ire of the people when hoarding and posters placing his image above Rabindranath Tagore surfaced.
Taking offence to the posters, the Trinamool-backed teachers carried out protests from Santiniketan with posters reading "Chi"(which express the terms of shame).
The TMC workers said that the Bengal's pride, Rabindranath Tagore has been insulted with such banners.
"Amit Shah is coming to Shantiniketan and our Gurudev is being insulted by placing his image below the politician's. This is unacceptable. The people of Santiniketan and the entire Bengali nation have been belittled in the banner," Praloy Naik, a protesting teacher said.
