Around 34 fishermen have been rescued from drowning in the Bay of Bengal while going for fishing. About 150 trawlers went to the sea out of which most of them got submerged in the water due to worse weather

Kolkata:A total of 27 fishermen have gone missing in the Bay of Bengal on Sunday, whereas the other 34 out of 61 fishermen were rescued from drowning.

The incident took place near Bangladesh border area, where four trawlers were submerged in the deep sea while on fishing.

The trawlers were identified as FB NAYAN carrying 16 persons and presently all the 16 are missing; FB DASHABHUJA carrying 15 people out of which 4 have been rescued yesterday and 11 are yet missing; FB BABAJI carrying 15 fishermen and all of them have been rescued; FB JAYJOGIRAJ carrying 15 persons and all of them have been rescued.

Three days ago, about 150 trawlers went to the sea in order to catch fishes. Most of the trawlers submerged in the water body due to bad weather and severe storm.

The coast guards of the Indian Navy have been informed regarding the matter. Presently, the rescue operation to find the other fishermen are still underway.
