New Delhi:Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) National Secretary and West Bengal State President Rahul Sinha on Thursday, targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in connection with alleged threats by locals to BJP leader Ishrat Jahan on attending the party's Hanuman Chalisa event.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, he said: "Men or women both have full freedom to attend any event. Attending a 'Hanuman Chalisa Path' would not change her religion. During Roza and Eid, Hindus join the celebration and this won't change their religion. We don't throw them out of the community."
He further accused Mamata Banerjee for creating differences between the two communities.
"Government must provide security to Jahan. We will ask the government to take action against the house owner and Maulanas who had threatened her. If it meets with inaction, we will come out on the roads," he further added.
