Kolkata:A controversy has taken place between Centre and the West Bengal government regarding the inauguration of Asia's largest hanging rail bridge in East Burdwan district.

The inauguration of Asia's largest hanging rail bridge has stirred controversy between the Centre and the West Bengal government.
The inauguration was earlier scheduled by the Indian Railways to be done on September 30 by Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. On the other hand, state govt has decided the cabinet minister Subrat Mukherjee inaugurate the railway bridge within 24 hours.
Railways have put a guard wall on the bridge stating that the bridge is under construction. Besides this, a board has been displayed to stop entrance.
"We applied for the railway bridge to be opened soon, considering the trouble caused to the common people," said Debu Tudu, vice-president of the East Burdwan Zila Parishad.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed railway bridge at Burdwan Railway Station on Tuesday.
