Kolkata: The popular image of the BSF is of burly stout men wielding assault rifles and standing on guard at the border with a cold, expressionless look on their faces. However, a heartwarming act of the tough jawans on Sunday evening has brought a humane side of the force to light.
A few days ago Sabar Khan's sister living in Bangladesh came to know that her brother living in India had passed away. Her grief of losing her sibling coupled with anxiety when she thought about the difficulties she may face if she had to pay her last respects to her deceased brother.
Fortunately, she found an ally on the other side of the India-Bangladesh border. Upon her request, Aminuddin Dafadar, a member of the border village Hariharpur under the BSF South Bengal Frontier Spokesperson AK Arya said took it upon himself to ensure that she gets to see her brother one last time.
Aminuddin approached the company commander of Border Out Post Madhupur, 68 Battalion, requesting that Sabar Khan's sister, a resident of Bangladesh, be allowed to pay her final homage to her brother.
