New Delhi: Apart from the families of slain BJP workers, a fresh group of 45 workers of the saffron party from West Bengal arrived in the national capital to attend Prime Minister Modi's swearing-in ceremony on Thursday.

Workers said their hard work has been rewarded

Speaking to reporters, a worker said, "We have worked very hard towards ensuring good results for the party over the last few years. We have been rewarded for our hard work."

Pertinently, the family members of over 40 BJP workers, who were killed in political violence in West Bengal in the last one year, have also been invited for the swearing-in of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister for a second term.

The BJP put up its best ever show in the state this Lok Sabha elections, winning 18 of the 42 seats there, a huge jump from its earlier tally of two. The TMC won 22, a sharp fall from the 34 it had won in 2014.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at 7 pm in the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Ram Nath Kovind will administer the oath of office and secrecy at the function.
