Dehradun (Uttarakhand):The Uttarakhand Congress on Wednesday sought the disqualification of Purola MLA Rajkumar from the state Assembly under the anti-defection law. Rajkumar, who had won on a Congress ticket in 2017, recently joined the BJP.
Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Pritam Singh submitted an application to Speaker Premchand Aggarwal through Vidhan Sabha Secretary Mukesh Singhal, seeking Rajkumar's disqualification.
He should be disqualified as a member of the House under the anti-defection law since he voluntarily gave up membership of the Congress on September 12, the application said.
