Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat held a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in Delhi last night. This meeting which lasted till midnight was attended by senior party leaders including BJP national president JP Nadda. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding the vacant Haldwani and Gangotri seats. These seats are lying vacant after the demises of the MLAs.
This meeting came in the wake of the Uttarakhand BJP's 'Chintan Shivir'. CM Tirath Singh Rawat was asked to report in Delhi by the BJP high command. Due to this sudden visit by the Uttarakhand CM to Delhi, speculations are doing the rounds in the political corridors. However, the CM has made it clear that his visit is about the strategy of the upcoming election and discussions on key pointers of the state BJP's Chintan Shivir.

Meanwhile, Congress state vice president Suryakant Dhasmana took a dig at the Chief Minister's visit to Delhi. He said that Trivendra Singh Rawat, former Uttarakhand CM, was suddenly called to Delhi by the high command during the Gairsain session. BJP removed Trivendra Singh Rawat as the CM of the state and replaced him with Tirath Singh Rawat. Now God forbid that whatever happened to Trivendra Singh Rawat should not happen to Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat.
