Uttarkashi: Uttrakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has once again stirred up a row by claiming that the people of the state have 'never received' sugar since the country got independence.
Rawat said it is his government that is offering sugar through the Public Distribution System (PDS) in the state.
Addressing workers at Uttarkashi on Saturday, Rawat said the amount of ration has been increased and for the first time under his governance the state government has decided to distribute two kilograms of sugar to all cardholders.
