Dehradun (Uttarakhand):If you are a fitness freak and avoid varied junk foods available in the market, then ETV Bharat brings you the taste of the famous Fruit Chaat dished out at Delhi Fruit Chaat Stall in Jakhan, Dehradun.
The fruit chaat is very popular not only among the residents of Dehradun but also among the tourists who visit the picturesque spot. Its popularity can be gauged from the fact that the delicious snack was served at the marriage function of the then Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The shop was started 20 years ago by Gyanchand Kashyap, a resident of Dehradun. Talking to ETV Bharat, Kashyap said that people from different parts of the country relish the snack which costs Rs40 per plate. It is different because he uses fresh and tasty sweet fruits in it. Along with this, to bring a different flavour, he also adds fried crispy potatoes and sweet potatoes, which people like very much, he said.
Kashyap further said that he adds a secret chaat masala prepared by him to his fruit chaat. These spices are prepared by mixing roasted cumin, black pepper and other ingredients. The masala not only enhances the taste of the chaat but is also helps in digestion. Apparently, it has survived for many years and became a favourite among foodies.
