Dehradun: Amid a raging debate over the just released Bollywood movie 'The Kerala Story', Haridwar Akhara Parishad President, Mahant Ravindra Puri has accused the Congress of “suppressing Hindus”. Mahant Ravindra Puri while talking to reporters in Haridwar said, “ Wherever the Congress has ruled, they have suppressed and oppressed Hindus and sided with the Muslims” in reply to a question over the movie The Kerala Story, which released on Friday.

The movie is reportedly based on alleged conversion of Hindu women in Kerala and their radicalisation to join the ISIS terror-fold. Mahant Puri claimed that many Hindu women were “lured” by Muslim men and abandoned later on. “The Muslims have in their religious beliefs that if they marry a Hindu woman, their seven generations will enter paradise,” Puri claimed.

“It is now clearly being known from The Kerala Story that how Muslims run a campaign like Love Jihad. If the pain of those families is felt, then you can imagine how the lives of those daughters changed due to a wrong mindset,” he added. “But this will not be allowed anymore. PM Modi is here and he is going to return as Prime Minister in 2024 Lok Sabha election as well,” he said.

Bollywood movie 'The Kerala Story' is in the midst of a storm with critics terming the film as a propaganda piece. The voices against the movie got shriller after the makers of the film changed the trailer description of the movie being based on the story of “32000 women” to just three.
