Haridwar (Uttarakhand):The Special Investigation Team has filed an application in the court for attaching the properties of Sharad and Mallika Pant, two partners in Max Corporate Services and partner in Nalwa labs, the firm and the lab which has been accused of conducting fake Covid-19 tests during Mahakumbh 2021. Along with that, an application is also being filed to procure a non-bailable warrant against the duo.
It is to be mentioned that the contract of conducting rapid antigen and RT-PCR tests for coronavirus during the Kumbh Mela was given to Max Corporate Services of Delhi. After the scam in the Covid testing came to the fore, the Chief Medical officer filed a complaint in Haridwar Police station. The Haridwar police have formed an SIT team to probe in the matter.
Recently, the SIT had arrested Ashish Vashisht, owner of Bhiwani's Delphia Lab. During an interrogation, Ashish revealed that he had uploaded the 'fake entries on the ICMR portal at the behest of Sharat Pant and Mallika Pant.'
"At present, they both are underground and their phones are also switched off. We are planning to request issuance of non-bailable warrants from the court," said an official from the SIT.
Meanwhile, Enforcement Directorate (ED) has expanded the scope of its ongoing investigation in the matter to all 22 pathological laboratories in the hill state which have been conducting Covid-19 tests.

Earlier, the ED conducted raids in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana in connection with the case.
