Dehradun (Uttarakhand): The Lok Sabha Speaker appointed retired IAS officer Utpal Kumar Singh as a secretary in Lok Sabha. He will assume charge from September 1.
A notification which was issued from the Lok Sabha Secretariat said that the detailed terms and conditions of his appointment will be issued later.
"The Speaker is pleased to appoint Shri Utpal Kumar Singh, IAS(retired), as Secretary on contract basis in Level 17 in the Pay Matrix with effect from 1st September, 2020 until further orders", read the official notification issued on Friday.
Singh, a native of Jharkhand's Jamui, and an IAS officer of 1986 batch, was earlier the chief secretary of Uttarakhand. He retired from the post of Uttarakhand chief secretary on July 31, this year.
